Australian teen television drama series Nowhere Boys has been nominated by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for an International Emmy Kids Award.
Nowhere Boys - Series 2, produced by Matchbox Pictures and supported by the ACTF, is one of 24 nominees from 13 countries across the globe, competing in six different category divisions. Nowhere Boys – Series 2 is in the running to win the “kids: series” division at the fourth annual awards ceremony.
The awards ceremony is undertaking a move from New York to Cannes for 2016. The upcoming year’s awards will also be hosted in a new partnership with Reed MIDEM at MIPTV.
ACTF supported programs Nowhere Boys - Series 1 and Dance Academy – Series 3 were nominated for best kids series last year at the International Emmy Kids Awards.
The Matchbox Pictures production is just one of two nominees representing Australia in the International Emmy Kids Awards. Galaxy Pop’s Australian animation series, Get Ace, was nominated in the “Kids: Animation” division.
Two weeks ago, Matchbox Pictures’ Nowhere Boys – Series 2 was also nominated for a Screen Producers Australia award for “Best Children’s Television Production”.
The International Emmy Kids Awards winners will be announced on April 5, 2016.
