What Do Kids in France, Ireland, Portugal and Canada Have in Common? They All Watch Hardball!

With most of the world in lockdown, the ACTF sales team have been busier than ever closing a raft of deals for its award-winning children’s catalogue.

Prix Jeunesse International 2020 finalist Hardball (13 x 24 min) has recently sold to France Televisions via the ACTF’s Sales Agent in France, APC Kids. A French language version of the series is currently being dubbed in Paris, for delivery to France Televisions. The availability of the French language version has also seen the sale of Hardball to French Canadian broadcaster TFO. Sales of Hardball have also been made to RTE (Ireland) as well as to RTP Portugal via the ACTF’s agent in Spain/Portugal, Luk Internacional.

Just-released mini-series First Day (4 x 24 min) has already proven popular in the Nordic territories, with NRK in Norway and YLE in Finland acquiring the program.

Netflix continued running kids mockumentary series Little Lunch, with a re-license of the program (and the two Little Lunch Specials) for the UK and Ireland, while Outdoor Channel Asia re-licensed Bushwhacked! - Series 1 and for the first time picked up the broadcast rights for Bushwhacked! - Series 2.

US Hispanic broadcaster Vme Media recently acquired the Pay TV rights to factual entertainment series WAC (World Animal Championships) for their English language channel Primo Network and Canadian online platform Ameba TV have licensed a package of shows for North America including pre-school series Hoopla Doopla, live-action comedy series Lockie Leonard - Series 1 & 2 and Worst Year of My Life, Again!, as well as factual entertainment programs Wacky World Beaters and Bushwhacked! - Series 2.

Still on the VOD front and US online platform Tubi TV have just picked up the rights to Lockie Leonard - Series 1 & 2, Worst Year of My Life, Again! and perennial favourite Mortified for selected territories, while German online broadcaster Kixi Entertainment licensed the VOD rights for its channels to the German language versions of classic series Round The Twist - Series 1 to 4, Mortified and animated comedy series, Flea-Bitten!.
