ACTF-supported series Little Lunch and Mustangs FC have received nominations in the 2017 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards.
Gristmill’s Little Lunch – The Specials and Matchbox Pictures’ Mustangs FC will compete against Matchbox Pictures’ Nowhere Boys: Two Moons Rising and Flying Bark Productions’ The Wild Adventures of Blinky Bill for the ‘Best Children’s Television Series’ prize.
The AACTA Awards recognise and honour the excellence of professionals in the Australian film and television industry, including producers, directors, actors, writers and cinematographers.
The nomination marks yet another recognition for the Little Lunch series and specials, alongside awards including a TV Week Logie, Prix Jeunesse, US International Film and Video Festival 'Best of Fest' and an ADG Award – all received in this year alone.
Meanwhile, the AACTA nomination marks the first award recognition for new series Mustangs FC, which made its debut this October on ABC ME. The momentum for Mustangs is set to build into the new year, following the announcement of a Matchbox Pictures/ACTF partnership to produce education resources based on the series for teachers in 2018.
Winners for the 7th annual AACTA Awards will be announced in a ceremony in Sydney on Wednesday December 6th.
The ACTF would like to wish the best of luck to all of the AACTA nominees.
