Lock It In: Dates for Your 2020 Planners

Teachers, we have planned this year’s dates for some of your favourite ACTF Education offerings. Pop these dates in your calendar, and stay tuned to the Education eNews for further details.

The Unlisted Webinar: Friday 08 May

Our live video conferences enable teachers and students Australia-wide to connect with the industry professionals behind current children’s series, regardless of their school’s location. In our first webinar for the year, upper primary and secondary students are invited to participate in a Q&A session with cast and crew from drama series The Unlisted. Our guests will include Showrunner Justine Flynn, and cast members Miah Madden, and Ved and Vrund Rao.

More details coming soon for this free video conference.

ALEA National Conference: 09 - 12 July

We are very proud to be a major sponsor of this year’s ALEA National Conference, which will be held in Sydney from 09 – 12 July. The ACTF Education team will be running workshops centred on this year’s theme: ‘Literacies of Our Learners’.  We would also love to chat with you about our latest children’s content and education resources at the ACTF stand.

My Place Short Story Competition: Term Three

Around 1300 students have participated in our My Place Short Story Competition over the past two years. Due to popular demand, we will be holding this creative student competition again this year, with entries open from 20 July – 28 August.

Year 3-6 primary students from across Australia will be asked to submit a short, imaginative writing piece on a fictional character they believe could live in the My Place house in 2020. The competition will have two categories: Years 3 and 4 (up to 500 words), and Years 5 and 6 (up to 1000 words).

Scriptwriting Series: Term Three / Term Four

In partnership with ACMI, the ACTF will this year run a new series of video conferences aimed at developing students’ understandings and skills in scriptwriting. Key dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
