What is a storyboard? Why are they important? How can we use them in our own storytelling?
The ACTF Learning team will guide Reception to Year 2 students in an interactive and fun exploration of storyboards as a planning tool in workshops at the Adelaide Festival Centre. Running on 18 and 19 May as part of the DreamBIG Children’s Festival, students will view and respond to short clips from children’s television programs, use a viewfinder to understand framing, and collaboratively create a sequence of images as a story plan. Understandings and skills developed in the workshops align with English, Media Arts, Visual Arts and Critical and Creative Thinking for these year levels.
With just a couple of sessions remaining open for bookings, we encourage local primary teachers to register now through the DreamBIG Children’s Festival website.
In a separate offering for secondary students, the ACTF is running scriptwriting workshops for aspiring writers as part of the WRITE NOW Festival. This new one-day event gives young people the chance to discover the different pathways for a working writer. Find full details here.
