ACTF News
With many school swimming programs cancelled this year and ongoing interruptions to swimming lessons, teachers and parents alike are looking to build children’s awareness of water safety ahead of the summer holidays. Look no further than Kangaroo Beach!
Developed for preschoolers and their families, this animated action-comedy series features comic characters and edge-of-your-seat rescues. The series appeals to young viewers by exploring the wonders of water play – on the beach, in the sea, in swimming pools, rivers and rock pools – while empowering them with an essential message about water safety in every episode.
Behind the scenes, Bondi Beach chief lifeguard Bruce ‘Hoppo’ Hopkins (from TV series Bondi Rescue) and Ironman world champion Craig ‘Riddo’ Riddington provided essential water safety advice during the development of the series. Surf Life Saving Australia provided additional support.
In this 26 x 11-minute series, Australian animal friends Pounce, Gemma, Neville and Frizzy spend an action-packed summer at the spectacular Kangaroo Beach, training as junior cadets with their lifeguard heroes. When an emergency breaks out, the cadets step up to help keep the water safe.
