The PM’s Daughter is a 10-part comedy-drama series set in Canberra, the heartland of Australian politics. It tells the story of Catalina Parkes Pérez, a teenager who’s like any other, but with one difference: her mother is the new Prime Minister of Australia.
In the lead up to the 2022 federal election, the ACTF partnered with MoAD Learning to create teaching resources for students in Years 5 to 10. Victorian secondary student Ahelee Rahman also contributed to the resources as a youth consultant. Drawing on content from the series and addressing curriculum content for Civics and Citizenship, English and Media Arts, these resources build knowledge of our democratic processes and civic responsibilities while developing students’ media literacy and critical thinking skills.
To learn more, teachers are invited to attend a virtual professional development session on Thursday 8 September. We are offering two after-school timeslots for this Zoom session, with registrations now open through the MoAD website.
On request, the ACTF can provide a letter of attendance to outline the teaching standards addressed in this session.
